Terms of service

1. Agreement.

These terms are a contract between you and Ping Island LLC ("Ping Island," "we," "us"), a Texas limited liability company, covering your use of the PairGoal app and its supporting services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use PairGoal. The Service is intended for residents of the United States.

3. The Service.

PairGoal helps two people track and accelerate shared financial goals using budget data from YNAB (You Need A Budget), which you connect through your own YNAB account. A YNAB account is required; PairGoal does not work without one. We may add, change, or remove features as the Service evolves.

4. Fees and subscriptions.

PairGoal is currently offered free of charge while in early access. We expect to introduce a paid subscription. If we do, it will be purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system: the subscription's name, billing period, and full price will be shown to you in the app before you buy; it will renew automatically until you cancel it in your App Store account settings; and billing and refunds will be handled by Apple under Apple's terms. We will update these terms and give notice before any subscription takes effect, and no feature you have already paid for will be taken away during a period you've paid for.

5. Your account.

Keep your account information accurate and your device and YNAB sign-in secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@pingisland.io if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

6. Acceptable use.

Don't use the Service for anything unlawful; don't interfere with or disrupt the Service; don't attempt to access other users' data; don't reverse engineer, resell, or misrepresent the Service. We may suspend accounts that violate this section.

7. Household sharing.

PairGoal's core feature is sharing goal and budget information between you and the partner you choose to connect with. What your partner can see is described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for choosing your partner; agreements you make with each other through the app (goals, acceleration rules, boosts) are between the two of you — Ping Island is not a party to them and does not enforce them beyond what the app's features do.

8. Third-party services.

Your use of YNAB is governed by YNAB's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for YNAB's availability, accuracy, or actions. We are not affiliated, associated, or in any way officially connected with YNAB or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates, and PairGoal is not officially supported by YNAB in any way. We never sell or resell the data we receive from YNAB.

9. No financial advice.

PairGoal displays figures to help you track goals. Ping Island is not a bank, lender, broker-dealer, investment adviser, or other financial institution (including as defined by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act), and PairGoal does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice — you shouldn't rely on it as such. Decisions you make about your money are yours.

10. Our property.

The Service — including its software, design, and branding — belongs to Ping Island and its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, for its intended purpose. If you send us feedback, we can use it without obligation to you.

11. Termination.

You can stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account — in the app, via the account deletion page, or by email. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the Service; if we discontinue it, we'll give reasonable notice where we can. Sections 9–15 survive termination.

12. Disclaimer of warranties.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT FIGURES DISPLAYED WILL ALWAYS BE ACCURATE OR CURRENT.

13. Limitation of liability.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PING ISLAND WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, SAVINGS, OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so parts of Sections 12 and 13 may not apply to you.

14. Apple App Store.

These terms are between you and Ping Island only — not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund any purchase price you paid for it; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app — including product liability, consumer protection, privacy, or intellectual-property claims — which are our responsibility to the extent required by law. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties, and you agree to comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

15. Governing law and venue.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Collin County, Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these terms.

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we'll give reasonable notice — in the app or by email — before it takes effect; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms. The current version always lives at this page.
